Available since 2004, USCS is able to offer voice-directed warehousing to support highly custom order assembly services. Voice-directed technology saves time and improves inventory and order accuracy in programs that have complex requirements. USCS uses it to direct warehouse staff in locating, selecting and building orders. The system uses radio frequency (RF) transmission to communicate between the warehouse personnel and the order, tracking product and shipments as cases are being picked and an order assembled. It has been used very effectively for retail and foodservice distribution programs that require rainbow or modular pallet building, or high-turn less-than-pallet orders.
